HP Compaq Pro/Elite Tower Desktop PC

This HP Compaq Pro/Elite Tower desktop PC is built for users who want a ready-to-use Windows 10 Pro system with a dedicated GTX 1660 SUPER graphics card. It suits 1080p gaming, general productivity and media playback. The Intel Core i5-3470 processor runs at 3.20 GHz up to 3.60 GHz with four cores. Buyers who need more storage than the single 512 GB SSD provides should look elsewhere.

Installation and common issues

The tower arrives assembled with a wired keyboard and mouse included, so setup only requires connecting power, a display via DisplayPort or HDMI and the peripherals. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed. The supplier notes the system uses 16 GB DDR3 memory despite the DDR4 label; verify the installed modules match your upgrade plans before adding more RAM.

Pre-purchase checks

Confirm your monitor has a DisplayPort or HDMI input to match the GPU outputs. The chassis is a standard tower form factor; ensure your workspace can accommodate it. The motherboard supports a maximum of 64 GB of memory across its slots. No optical drive is fitted, so any software on disc will need an external drive.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the GTX 1660 SUPER 6GB DDR6 is running correctly after setup?

Connect a display via the HDMI or DisplayPort, install the latest NVIDIA driver, then open the NVIDIA Control Panel to verify the GPU is detected and running at expected clock speeds.

What accessories are included and what must I buy separately?

The box contains the tower, a wired USB keyboard, a wired USB mouse, and a Wi-Fi adapter; a monitor is not included and must be purchased separately.

Which memory specification should I select if I want to expand beyond the installed 16 GB?

The system uses DDR4 and supports up to 64 GB total; purchase DDR4 DIMMs that match the existing speed for compatibility.
