HP CP-1391R2 400W Storageworks Supply

This HP CP-1391R2 power supply delivers 400 Watt output for HP StorageWorks VLS9000 systems. It serves as a direct replacement module for administrators maintaining power redundancy in existing tape library infrastructure. The unit is supplied new and matches the original form factor required by the VLS9000 chassis.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The 400 Watt rating defines the maximum power available to the VLS9000 module under normal operation. As a hot-swap switch module, it shares the library's cooling airflow rather than relying on an independent fan curve. Acoustic output therefore follows the host system's thermal profile and load level.

Questions about this item

How do I install the HP CP-1391R2 400 Watt power supply into a VLS9000 chassis?

Slide the unit into the power supply bay until the latch clicks securely, then connect the AC cord; the step often missed is verifying the latch is fully engaged.

What maintenance will the HP CP-1391R2 400 Watt power supply require over time?

Periodically vacuum dust from the intake vents to maintain airflow; the internal fan is not user-serviceable, so replace the entire module if cooling performance drops.
