Compact Business Mini

The HP EliteDesk 800 G5 Mini is a refurbished desktop computer built around an Intel Core i5-9500T processor with six cores, a 2.2 GHz base frequency and up to 3.7 GHz boost. It ships with 16GB DDR4 memory, a 256GB SATA SSD and Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives two DisplayPort 1.2 outputs for dual-monitor setups.

Office and Light Workloads

This system suits office workers, call-centre agents and education labs that need a quiet, small-footprint PC for browser-based apps, document editing and video calls. Buyers who need a discrete graphics card, multiple 2.5-inch drive bays or a higher-core-count processor for rendering or compilation should look at larger form-factor desktops.

Single 2.5-Inch Expansion Bay

The chassis provides one internal 2.5-inch bay for an additional hard drive or SSD, which is the only internal storage upgrade path. Front I/O includes a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 port, a charging USB-A 3.1 Gen 1 port and a USB-A 3.1 Gen 2 port, while the rear adds two USB-A 3.1 Gen 1, two USB-A 3.1 Gen 2, RJ-45 and an external antenna connector. A USB WiFi dongle and external power adapter are included.

Questions about this item

How do I install a 2.5" SATA drive in the internal bay, and which step do people skip?

Remove the bottom cover, slide the 2.5" SATA drive into the single internal bay, connect the SATA data and power cables, then secure the drive with the screw; people often forget to connect both cables before replacing the cover.

What maintenance or replacement will the 256 GB SATA SSD need later?

The 256 GB SATA SSD has a finite write endurance; plan to replace it once its health monitoring tools report high wear or if capacity becomes insufficient.

What thermal limit appears first on the i5-9500T during sustained loads?

The i5-9500T will hit its 3.7 GHz turbo ceiling and then throttle to the 2.2 GHz base frequency when the mini chassis cannot dissipate heat fast enough.
