HP Elite x2 1012 G2 2-in-1

This 12.3 inch detachable tablet runs Windows 10 Pro on a 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor with 16 GB of LPDDR3 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. The WQXGA+ IPS touchscreen delivers a 2736 x 1824 resolution protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It includes a backlit travel keyboard and an active pen for immediate productivity.

Upgrade from older detachables

The jump is worth it when you need the 3.5 GHz turbo boost speed and 16 GB of soldered LPDDR3 memory to handle multiple business applications at once. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 supports external displays via USB Type-C with Thunderbolt. Buyers who want more storage than 1 TB or user-replaceable memory should look elsewhere.

Simple setup with one catch

Attach the keyboard magnetically, pair the pen via Bluetooth, and the system is ready. The 15:10 aspect ratio and 268 ppi density make text sharp without scaling hassles. What usually goes wrong: the 16 GB of memory cannot be upgraded later, and the single USB Type-C port may require a dock for legacy peripherals.
