Business-ready 2-in-1

The HP Elite x2 1012 G2 is a 12.3-inch detachable tablet with a silver magnesium chassis. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a 7th-generation Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor at 2.6 GHz with Intel HD Graphics 620. The 2736 x 1824 IPS touchscreen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It includes 8 GB LPDDR3 memory and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. A backlit travel keyboard and HP Active Pen are supplied in the box.

Verify your workflow needs

Confirm that Windows 10 Pro satisfies your software licensing and security policies. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 drives the 15:10 display and external monitors via USB-C with Thunderbolt. Only 8 GB of LPDDR3 memory is fitted and it is not upgradeable. The dual-core i5-7300U reaches 3.5 GHz with Turbo Boost for burst workloads. Two USB-C ports handle data, video and charging; there are no full-size USB-A or HDMI ports.

Step up from older detachables

This unit replaces bulky convertibles or first-generation detachables that lack pen support and high-resolution screens. The 3:2 aspect ratio and 268 ppi panel improve document review and inking accuracy. The jump is worth it when you need a silent, fanless core-m class device with stylus input and LTE-ready connectivity for mobile professionals. Users requiring discrete graphics, user-replaceable storage or more than 8 GB RAM should consider larger form factors.
