Form factor

The HP Elite x2 G8 is a 13.0" detachable touchscreen device that works as both a tablet and a professional laptop. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and targets mobile workers who need a single device for desk and field use. The 1.8300 kg weight keeps it portable for daily carry.

Sustained performance

The Intel Core i5-1145G7 processor and 16GB of memory handle typical office workloads such as document editing, video calls and web browsing without throttling in short sessions. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics drives the 1920 x 1280 display for standard productivity tasks. Heavy compute or graphics loads will exceed the thermal envelope of this fanless design.

Thermals and power

Passive cooling keeps the system silent during normal operation, though surface temperatures rise under continuous load. The 256 GB SSD contributes to low power draw and quick wake times. Battery life varies with screen brightness and workload intensity.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the Core i5-1145G7 get when the Elite x2 G8 runs all day?

The 1.83 kg tablet-laptop uses Intel UHD Graphics and a 1145 G7 chip; under sustained load the fan spins up but stays at a low hum and the chassis stays warm rather than hot.

Which cables or docks must I already own to connect monitors and peripherals to this 13" detachable?

The spec sheet lists only the 1920 x 1280 touchscreen and Intel UHD Graphics; video-out and dock connections are not detailed, so check the side ports before buying adapters.
