Refurbished business ultraportable

This HP EliteBook 830 G8 is a refurbished 13.3-inch laptop built for mobile professionals who need a compact Windows 11 Pro machine. It ships with a Grade B cosmetic rating, meaning visible wear is present but the unit is fully functional. The quad-core Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor and 16 GB of memory handle typical office workloads and multitasking without difficulty.

Thermals and power in daily use

The thin-and-light chassis measures 0.7 inches thick and weighs 2.73 lbs, so fan noise stays modest during document editing, video calls or web browsing. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory, keeping power draw low compared with discrete GPU designs. The included power adapter supports the 64-bit operating system and all onboard components under normal business loads.

Deciding specification: 256 GB NVMe storage

The single figure that determines suitability is the 256 GB NVMe solid-state drive. That capacity fits the operating system, core applications and a working set of files, but buyers who need large local media libraries, extensive project archives or multiple virtual machines will find it restrictive. No additional internal drive bays are mentioned, so expansion relies on external Thunderbolt 4 or USB 3.2 Type-A devices.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 256GB NVMe drive and what step is often missed?

The 256GB NVMe drive is already installed in the M.2 slot. No user installation is required; the laptop ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-loaded on it.

What maintenance will the 16GB memory and 256GB NVMe need later?

The 16GB memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded. The 256GB NVMe drive can be replaced with a larger NVMe module if more storage is needed later.

What limit appears first during sustained heavy workloads on the i7-1185G7?

The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics share 16GB system memory, so VRAM capacity becomes the bottleneck before the quad-core processor reaches thermal limits.
