Business laptop for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 840 G4 is a 14.0 inch notebook built for office workers who travel between desks and meetings. An Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor running at 2.6 GHz with 3 MB cache drives everyday productivity. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD keep files and applications responsive.

Silver chassis with versatile ports

The silver body houses a non-touch 1366 x 768 LED display and a 720p webcam for video calls. Connectivity includes two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.1 Type C port, full-size DisplayPort, VGA, Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet and a SIM card reader for mobile broadband. Wireless 802.11 b/g/n keeps the link steady in typical office environments.

Integrated graphics and display limits

Intel HD Graphics 620 uses shared system memory, so 3D workloads and heavy video editing will run slowly. The 1366 x 768 panel caps external monitors at modest resolutions and the 64-bit Windows 10 Home installation cannot join corporate domains without an upgrade. Buyers who need dedicated GPU power or higher pixel density should look elsewhere.
