Ready for business travel

This 14.0-inch EliteBook 840 G4 is built for professionals who need a reliable Windows 10 Pro machine on the move. The dual-core i5-7300U running at 2.6 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 memory handle office suites, email and video calls without fuss. A 1 TB NVMe drive provides fast boot times and ample space for documents. The HD display at 1366 x 768 keeps the chassis light for daily commutes.

Storage headroom and limits

The 1 TB NVMe SSD comfortably stores large project folders, local databases and offline mail archives while leaving room for future growth. When the drive fills, the single M.2 slot means expansion requires replacing the module rather than adding a second one. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 uses shared system memory, so heavy 3D workloads or multi-monitor 4K output will run out of graphics headroom quickly. The 8 GB soldered memory ceiling also caps virtual-machine counts and large spreadsheet performance.

Ports and peripherals included

A full-size DisplayPort and VGA connector let you drive two external screens without adapters, while the USB 3.1 Type-C port adds modern docking flexibility. Gigabit RJ-45 ensures stable wired networking in office environments. The box supplies only the laptop, charger and battery, so a docking station, USB hub or external webcam must be sourced separately for a complete desk setup.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.1 Type-C port on this EliteBook 840 G4 work with my older USB 3.0 dock?
