HP EliteBook 840 G5 business laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G5 is a 14.0-inch FHD notebook powered by an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor running at 1.7 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory in a dual-channel 8 GB x 2 configuration and a 512 GB PCIe M.2 SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles display output on the 1920 x 1080 non-touch panel. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Ready to use with standard connectivity

The system arrives fully assembled with the operating system already configured, so no internal hardware installation is required. Wireless connectivity uses Intel Dual Band Wireless with Bluetooth 4.1, and wired networking is provided by built-in Gigabit Ethernet. External devices connect through a pair of USB 3.0 ports and USB Type-C ports that support DisplayPort functionality, plus a headphone jack. There is no optical drive, so software must be installed via network or USB media.

Suited for office and mobile professionals

This configuration suits users who need a managed Windows 11 Pro device with vPro manageability, HP Sure Start BIOS protection and a 14-inch form factor for travel. Buyers who want more storage than 512 GB or require a dedicated graphics processor should look at other models. The non-touch screen and integrated graphics also make it a poor fit for creative workflows that demand pen input or discrete GPU acceleration.
