Ready-to-deploy business laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G5 ships with Windows 10 Pro, a quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor, 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. The 14.0 inch FHD LED panel runs at 1920 x 1080 without touch input. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 uses shared system memory for everyday visual tasks.

Check ports and peripherals first

Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports and one USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 port handle docking and accessories. A full-size HDMI output and Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet are built in. Wireless connectivity relies on the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 adapter. Verify that your monitors, docks and network cables match these interfaces before ordering.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

The 15 W processor targets typical office workloads with modest heat output. Fan noise stays low during document editing, web browsing and video playback. Heavier multi-threaded tasks will raise temperatures and fan speed, but the compact chassis is designed for sustained business use. The included charger and battery support mobile operation.
