Ready for professionals

The HP EliteBook 840 G7 is a 14.0 inch laptop built for mobile professionals who need reliable performance. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i7-10610U quad-core processor with 8 MB cache and a base speed of 1.8 GHz. The system includes 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics drives the 1920 x 1080 FHD LED display.

Suits mobile workers not gamers

This configuration suits office productivity, video calls and multi-monitor setups via two Thunderbolt 3 ports, HDMI and Gigabit Ethernet. Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5 handle wireless connectivity. Buyers who need discrete graphics for 3D rendering, high-frame-rate gaming or GPU compute workloads should look at a different class of machine. The non-touch screen and integrated graphics limit creative workflows that require pen input or dedicated video memory.

Quad-core 15 W processor decides fit

The Intel Core i7-10610U operates at a 15 W thermal design power, delivering four cores and eight threads in a thin chassis. That power envelope determines whether the laptop meets your sustained performance needs for compiling code, large spreadsheets or virtual machines. If your workload demands higher sustained clock speeds or more cores, this CPU is the limiting factor.
