HP EliteBook 840 G9 business laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G9 is a 14.0-inch business laptop built around a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1265U processor with 10 cores and 12 MB cache. It ships with 16 GB DDR5 memory, a 256 GB SSD and Windows 11 Pro. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics drive the 1920 x 1200 non-touch display.

Check your peripherals and docking needs

Verify that your monitors accept HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.4 over the two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, which also deliver USB Power Delivery. The laptop provides two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one charging-capable, plus a headphone/microphone combo jack and an AC power input. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 handle wireless connectivity.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 10-core processor has a 1.80 GHz base frequency and can boost to 4.80 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost, while the shared-system-memory Iris Xe GPU scales with the 16 GB DDR5-4800 RAM. Under prolonged load the 250-nit antiglare panel and dual Bang & Olufsen speakers remain usable, and the chassis manages thermals without a discrete graphics card. Memory can be expanded to 64 GB if workloads demand more capacity.
