Business laptop for professionals

The HP EliteBook 845 G8 is a 14.0 inch laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U processor with eight cores and sixteen threads running at a 1.9 GHz base clock. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and targets users who need a durable aluminium chassis for daily office work and travel.

32 GB DDR4 and 2 TB NVMe storage

The system includes 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD, providing generous headroom for multitasking and large local data sets. Integrated AMD Radeon graphics use shared system memory, so graphics-intensive tasks or heavy video editing will hit the limits of the shared pool.

USB-C 10 Gbps and HDMI connectivity

Two USB Type-C ports deliver 10 Gbps bandwidth with USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4 support, while two USB Type-A ports run at 5 Gbps. A single HDMI port handles external displays, and wireless connectivity relies on 802.11ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 5. The non-touch 1920 x 1080 LED panel does not support pen input.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0" FHD screen and USB-C DisplayPort 1.4 work with my older 1080p monitor over HDMI?

Yes, the HDMI port drives a 1920 x 1080 external display, and the USB-C ports support DisplayPort 1.4 for a second monitor; both run at the panel's native 1080p resolution.

How can I verify the 8-core Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U and 32GB DDR4 are recognised after first boot?

Open Windows 11 Pro Task Manager → Performance tab; it should show 8 cores, 16 threads, 1.90 GHz base clock, and 32 GB DDR4 memory.

Does the box contain the 2TB NVMe SSD already installed, or must I fit it myself?

The 2 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD comes pre-installed; the package includes the laptop, battery, and charger — no extra parts are needed.
