HP EliteBook 845 G8 overview

This 14.0 inch laptop runs Windows 11 Pro on an AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U processor with 6 cores and 19MB L3 cache. It ships with 16GB DDR4-3200 memory and a 256GB solid state drive. The anti-glare FHD IPS display reaches 250 nits and covers 45% NTSC, suited for everyday office work and video calls.

Installation and common issues

The system arrives ready to use with the operating system pre-installed, so no drive imaging or driver hunting is required. Memory is soldered to the board, meaning the 16GB configuration cannot be upgraded later. Only two USB Type-C ports and two USB Type-A ports are available, so users with multiple peripherals may need a hub.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Mobile professionals who value a light 6.0 kg chassis, vPro manageability, and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity will find this a reliable daily driver. Buyers who need more than 256GB of internal storage or a touchscreen should consider other models. The 45% NTSC panel also limits colour-critical creative tasks.
