Business laptop for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 845 G8 runs a six-core Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U at 2.3 GHz with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 2 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. A 14.0 inch FHD LED panel at 1920 x 1080 provides a non-touch workspace. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for enterprise environments.

Thermals and acoustics in daily use

The aluminium chassis acts as a large heat-spreader so the six-core processor stays cool during typical office workloads. Fan noise remains low when browsing, streaming or running productivity apps. Integrated Radeon graphics share system memory, keeping power draw modest on battery.

Connectivity and build for everyday carry

MIL-STD testing and a silver aluminium body resist knocks and flex during travel. Two USB-C 10 Gbps ports support power delivery and DisplayPort 1.4 for docks or monitors. Two USB-A 5 Gbps ports, HDMI, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5 cover peripherals and networks. Webcam and charger are included.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD and what step is often missed?

The 2TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD is already installed from the factory. No user installation is required; the laptop ships with Windows 11 Pro configured on the drive.

What maintenance will the 16GB DDR4 memory and battery need over time?

The 16GB DDR4 memory is soldered and not upgradeable. The battery is replaceable; when runtime drops, a compatible HP battery can be swapped in by removing the bottom cover.

At what point does the AMD Radeon shared memory limit appear during sustained workloads?

The AMD Radeon graphics uses shared system memory from the 16GB DDR4 pool. Under heavy sustained loads, the 16GB total RAM becomes the limiting factor before GPU memory fills.
