Business laptop with 32 GB DDR4

The HP EliteBook 840 G8 is a 14.0 inch laptop built around an Intel Core i5-1145G7 quad-core processor running at 2.60 GHz. It comes with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. This configuration suits professionals who need ample memory and fast storage in a portable form factor.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

The Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory and handle typical office workloads without a discrete GPU. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports provide connectivity for peripherals and external displays. Wireless networking uses Intel Dual Band AX201 WiFi alongside Bluetooth 5.2. An HDMI port and integrated webcam support video conferencing and presentations.

Included charger and battery only

The package contains the laptop, its charger and the internal battery. No additional accessories such as a docking station, carrying case or external peripherals are supplied. Buyers who want more storage expansion beyond the single M.2 slot or a dedicated graphics card for intensive rendering should consider a different platform. The silver chassis meets a Grade A cosmetic standard with minimal wear.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 1 TB NVMe M.2 SSD and what step is often missed?

The 1 TB NVMe M.2 SSD is already installed in the M.2 slot; the step people miss is confirming the drive appears in the BIOS boot order before reinstalling Windows 11 Pro.

What maintenance or replacement will the 32 GB DDR4 memory need later?

The 32 GB DDR4 memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded; if a fault occurs the entire mainboard must be replaced.

At what point does the Intel Core i5 1145G7 throttle under sustained load?

The quad-core i5 1145G7 with 8 MB cache will hit its thermal limit first, reducing clocks to stay within its power envelope during prolonged heavy workloads.
