HP EliteBook 850 G1 business laptop

The HP EliteBook 850 G1 is a 15.6-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-4600U processor running at 2.1 GHz with a turbo boost to 2.7 GHz. It ships with Windows 10 Pro activated and 8 GB of memory. The non-touch display offers a 1920x1080 resolution. This configuration targets professionals who need a ready-to-run office machine with a full HD screen.

65 W adapter and good battery included

A 65 W power adapter is supplied and the battery is reported as good, so the laptop can be used away from a desk without an immediate replacement purchase. The integrated Intel HD 4400 graphics handle the internal display and external monitors without a discrete GPU. No optical drive is fitted, reducing weight and potential failure points. The system arrives ready to run right out of the box.

256 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM capacity

The 256 GB solid-state drive provides fast boot and application loading for typical office suites and web workloads. Eight gigabytes of memory keeps multiple browser tabs and documents responsive. Storage headroom may run out with large local media libraries or virtual machines. The dual-core processor reaches its limits with sustained heavy compute tasks such as video encoding or modern gaming.

Questions about this item

Will the 256 GB SSD need to be replaced for more capacity?

The 256 GB SSD is the installed boot drive; you can add a second drive if the chassis has an open bay, but the original drive itself does not require scheduled replacement.

What limits performance first during long workloads on the Core i7-4600U?

The dual-core i7-4600U hits its 2.7 GHz turbo ceiling and the Intel HD 4400 graphics share system memory, so sustained heavy tasks are bounded by CPU thermal limits and shared VRAM.

How loud and hot does the 65 W adapter and fan get during all-day use?

The 65 W adapter runs warm but silent; the internal fan spins up under load on the i7-4600U, producing audible airflow while keeping the 15.6 inch chassis within normal operating temperatures.
