15.6-inch FHD business laptop

The HP EliteBook 850 G7 is a 15.6-inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1080 IPS display, Intel Core i5-10310U processor, 32GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt support, HDMI, Wi-Fi 6 and a webcam. The unit is graded BLCD for cosmetic condition.

Who this suits and who it does not

This laptop suits professionals needing a portable 15-inch device with strong multi-tasking memory and fast NVMe storage for office applications and video calls. Buyers who want a pristine cosmetic appearance should look elsewhere, as Grade BLCD means visible scratches, shiny keys and minor screen blemishes are present. Anyone requiring dedicated graphics performance for 3D work or gaming will not find it here.

Quad-core i5-10310U with 6 MB cache

The Intel Core i5-10310U provides four cores and eight threads at a 1.70 GHz base frequency with 6 MB of L3 cache. This specification determines how the system handles concurrent business workloads and light content creation. If your software demands higher sustained clock speeds or more cores, this processor will be the limiting factor.

Questions about this item

Will the 15 W TDP of the Intel Core i5-10310U throttle under sustained workloads?

The 15 W TDP means the processor will reduce clocks once its thermal limit is reached during long heavy tasks.

How loud does the fan get and what surface temperatures should I expect when the laptop runs all day?

Expect audible fan noise and warm keyboard deck temperatures during continuous load; the chassis is designed to dissipate heat within its 15 W envelope.

Which peripherals can I connect directly to the two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports without extra adapters?

Thunderbolt 3 docks, external GPUs, 4K displays and high-speed NVMe storage all work natively on the two USB-C ports.
