Business laptop for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 850 G7 is a 15.6-inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i5-10310U quad-core processor running at 1.70 GHz with 6 MB cache. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 FHD IPS panel uses LED backlighting and is non-touch. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed. The silver chassis carries a Grade BLCD cosmetic rating, meaning visible scratches and shiny key surfaces are present.

Check ports power and OS needs

Verify that your peripherals match the available connections: two USB 3.1 Type-C ports with Thunderbolt support, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports (one charging), one HDMI port and a headphone/microphone combo jack. The included AC adapter matches the original OEM wattage; confirm it suits your regional mains voltage. Wireless connectivity relies on Intel AX201 Wi-Fi 6 (2x2) and Bluetooth 5. The system arrives with Windows 11 Pro already licensed and activated.

Sustained load thermals and graphics limits

Under continuous workloads the 15 W quad-core CPU will throttle clock speeds to manage heat within the slim chassis. Intel UHD Graphics uses shared system memory, so extended 3D or video rendering reduces RAM available for applications. The 2 TB NVMe drive maintains write performance longer than smaller SSDs, but thermal limits may still lower sustained throughput. Fan noise increases noticeably during prolonged heavy use. This unit is not suited for buyers who need discrete graphics performance or a pristine cosmetic appearance.
