Compact 14-inch touch laptop for mobile

The HP EliteBook MT44 is a 14-inch notebook with a 1920 x 1080 IPS multi-touch display. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a quad-core AMD Ryzen 3 2300U processor with a 3.4 GHz turbo frequency. Integrated AMD Radeon Vega 6 graphics handle everyday visual tasks. The system includes 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD.

Aluminium chassis with versatile video outputs

The precision-crafted all-aluminium body houses a 720p webcam and a fingerprint reader for secure login. Video output is provided by an HDMI port and DisplayPort via USB-C for external monitors. Connectivity includes LAN, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Audio is delivered through speakers tuned by Bang & Olufsen with HP Noise Cancellation for clearer calls.

Efficient integrated graphics and quiet operation

The AMD Radeon Vega 6 integrated GPU shares system memory and operates within the processor power envelope. This design typically enables fanless or low-noise cooling during office workloads and video playback. The 2.00 GHz base clock and 3.4 GHz boost balance responsiveness with modest power draw. Memory can be expanded to 32 GB for heavier multitasking.

Questions about this item

What external display resolution can the USB-C DisplayPort output support on the MT44?

The USB-C port carries DisplayPort signalling and can drive an external monitor at up to 1920 x 1080 resolution, matching the built-in panel's native FHD pixel count.

What physical slot and module type does the MT44 use for memory upgrades?

The notebook uses a single SO-DIMM slot for DDR4 memory; the factory 8 GB module occupies it, so expanding to the 32 GB maximum requires replacing the stick rather than adding a second one.

How is the 256 GB SSD installed in the MT44, and what step is often missed?

The drive sits in an internal M.2 slot; after securing it with the retention screw, many people forget to enable the drive in the BIOS boot order before reinstalling Windows.
