Compact AI desktop for small offices

The HP EliteDesk 8 G1a D36F8UT#ABA is a Mini PC built around the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a 512 GB NVMe drive. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and integrated Radeon 860M graphics, targeting professionals who need local AI acceleration in a minimal footprint. The Jack Black chassis fits discreetly behind a monitor or on a crowded desk.

Tool-less access and wireless readiness

The case opens without tools so the NVMe slot and memory can be reached quickly for upgrades. Wi-Fi 6E is integrated, removing the need for a separate antenna cable in most setups. The only common snag is the single NVMe bay; adding a second drive requires an external enclosure or a USB adapter because no additional internal M.2 connector is present.

Local NPU performance decides fit

The Ryzen AI 7 350 includes a dedicated neural processing unit that handles on-device inference for supported productivity apps. If your workload relies on cloud APIs or does not use the NPU, the extra silicon adds cost without benefit. Buyers who need discrete graphics, multiple internal drives, or a larger memory ceiling should look at tower workstations instead.
