Compact Mini PC for Home and Student Work

The HP EliteDesk 8 G1a fits on a desk or behind a display with its small Mini PC form factor. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and an AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processor paired with 16 GB of DDR5 memory. This configuration targets everyday productivity, video calls and light creative tasks for home offices or students.

Sustained Performance in a Small Chassis

The Ryzen AI 5 340 runs at a 2.00 GHz base frequency and can boost to 4.80 GHz when thermal headroom allows. Integrated AMD Radeon 840M graphics share the 16 GB DDR5 pool for display output and light GPU workloads. A 90 W power adapter supplies the system, so performance scales with the cooling capacity of the mini enclosure during extended sessions.

Upgrade Path from Older Small Desktops

This unit replaces aging mini PCs or tower desktops that lack modern I/O such as a 10 Gbps USB Type-C port, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. The 512 GB NVMe SSD and 64 GB maximum memory ceiling provide room to grow. Buyers who need discrete graphics expansion or multiple internal drive bays should consider a larger chassis.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the EliteDesk 8 G1a get when it runs all day?
