Compact Business Desktop

The HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Tiny is a small-form-factor desktop computer built around an Intel Core i5-6500T processor with a maximum turbo frequency of 3.10 GHz. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed, and a keyboard and mouse are included in the box.

Office Users Seeking a Space-Saving PC

This system suits professionals who need a quiet, compact machine for standard productivity applications, video conferencing and multi-monitor setups via its two DisplayPort outputs. Buyers who require discrete graphics performance for 3D rendering, modern gaming or GPU-accelerated workloads should look elsewhere, as the platform relies solely on integrated Intel HD Graphics 530.

32GB DDR4 Memory Configuration

The single specification that determines suitability is the 32GB DDR4 memory capacity, which provides ample headroom for running multiple business applications and browser tabs simultaneously. If a workflow demands more memory than this fixed capacity allows, a different platform will be necessary.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 256GB SSD into the Tiny chassis without damaging the connector?

The 256GB SSD fits into the internal M.2 slot; slide it in at a shallow angle until the notch engages, then secure it with the single retention screw — the step most people miss is forgetting that screw, which leaves the drive loose and can cause detection errors.

What maintenance or replacement will the 32GB DDR4 memory need later?

The 32GB DDR4 is soldered to the board, so it cannot be upgraded or replaced; the only memory-related maintenance is keeping the air vents clear so the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 and CPU stay within thermal limits.

What limit appears first when the Core i5-6500T runs at 3.10 GHz under sustained load?

The Tiny form factor’s thermal envelope is the first bottleneck — the 65 W CPU throttles once the compact heatsink saturates, so prolonged heavy workloads will drop clock speeds before the 256GB SSD or 32GB DDR4 hit any throughput ceiling.
