Compact Business Desktop with Monitor

The HP EliteDesk 800 G4 SFF pairs an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor with 8 GB of DDR4 memory. A 512 GB M.2 solid-state drive holds the operating system while a 1 TB hard drive provides bulk storage. The bundle includes a 24-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, plus USB keyboard and mouse.

Sustained Office Workloads

The 65 W processor runs at a 3.0 GHz base clock and can reach 4.1 GHz on short bursts, keeping everyday tasks responsive. Intel UHD Graphics drives the included monitor without a discrete card, so power draw and heat stay modest during long work sessions. DDR4 memory and dual-drive storage keep file access steady across extended use.

Upgrade Path and Limits

This system replaces older small-form-factor PCs that lack M.2 slots or 8th-generation processor support. The 8 GB memory ceiling of 32 GB allows future expansion for heavier multitasking. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance or more than two internal drives should consider a larger chassis.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the 65 W i5-8500 get under continuous load?

The processor is rated at 65 W TDP and the SFF chassis uses a compact cooling assembly designed for that thermal envelope; fan speed will rise under sustained load but stays within HP business-class acoustic limits.

Which cables or peripherals do I need to add before the system will boot?

The box already contains the desktop, a 24-inch IPS monitor, USB keyboard and USB mouse; only a mains power lead for the tower and one for the display are required to start.

Will my existing DDR4 UDIMM modules fit the 240-pin slots on this motherboard?

Yes — the board accepts standard DDR4 UDIMM up to 32 GB total, so any compatible DDR4 stick you already own can be installed alongside the supplied 8 GB.
