Compact Business Desktop

The HP EliteDesk 800 G4 SFF pairs an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout of 128 GB M.2 SSD plus 1 TB hard drive. A 24-inch IPS monitor at 1920 x 1080 resolution, keyboard and mouse are included. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment in office environments.

Sustained Office Workloads

The 65 W processor runs at 3.0 GHz base with a 4.1 GHz maximum turbo, allowing steady performance during long document, browser and video-conference sessions. The small form factor chassis manages thermals for continuous duty without throttling typical of burst-only designs. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics drives the included display without a discrete card.

Upgrade Path Considerations

This configuration replaces older small-form-factor desktops limited to dual-core CPUs, 8 GB memory or single mechanical drives. The jump is worthwhile when multi-threaded business applications, larger datasets or multi-monitor setups exceed the capacity of those earlier systems. Buyers needing discrete graphics, additional internal drive bays or newer processor architectures should evaluate larger platforms.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 65 W i5-8500 produce during all-day use?

The processor has a 65 W thermal design power, so the SFF chassis and fan handle sustained workloads without excessive heat buildup.

What display cable must I already own to connect the 24-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS monitor?

The monitor uses a standard HDMI or DisplayPort input; the desktop provides both, so have the matching cable ready.

Will my existing DDR4 UDIMM modules work alongside the installed 32 GB if I want more memory?

The board has four DDR4 UDIMM slots supporting up to 64 GB total, so you can add compatible DDR4 sticks to the two free slots.
