HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF business desktop

The HP EliteDesk 800 G5 Small Form Factor desktop is built for office and home-office users who need a compact, ready-to-run Windows 10 Pro system. It ships with a 9th-generation Intel Core i5 9500 six-core processor operating at 3.00 GHz with 9 MB L3 cache and 65 W TDP. The 32 GB DDR4 memory and 2 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD provide ample capacity for multitasking and local data storage. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles everyday display output.

Connectivity and expansion for daily workflows

The chassis offers one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, four USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports and four USB 2.0 Type-A ports for peripherals. Two DisplayPort outputs support dual-monitor setups without adapters. Gigabit Ethernet provides wired network access, while Wi-Fi is not included. Some units may arrive with an optional serial or VGA port. The small form factor design fits tight desk spaces and standard mounting hardware.

Ready-to-use software and minimal accessories

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed, activated via the unit's unique digital licence and delivered without bloatware. The only included accessory is a power cord; no keyboard, mouse or monitor are supplied. Buyers who need wireless networking, additional video outputs beyond two DisplayPorts or a larger chassis for full-height add-in cards should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

What speed does the single USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port cap at in practice?

The USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supports up to 10 Gbps data transfer, limited by the controller and cable quality.

What physical space and mounting does the 2TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD require inside the SFF chassis?

The 2TB drive uses an M.2 2280 slot on the motherboard, secured with a single screw; no 2.5-inch bay or caddy is needed.

How is Windows 10 Pro activated on this unit, and what step do buyers often miss?

Windows 10 Pro activates automatically via the motherboard's unique digital licence once the system connects to the internet; skipping the initial network connection prevents activation.
