Compact business desktop

The HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF is a small-form-factor desktop built around an Intel Core i7 9700 eight-core processor running at 3.00 GHz with 12 MB L3 cache and a 65 W TDP. It ships with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 drive, plus Windows 11 Pro pre-installed.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This system suits offices needing a compact Windows 11 Pro PC with fast NVMe storage and plenty of USB connectivity including one Type-C port. Buyers who need discrete graphics, built-in Wi-Fi, or a full-size tower with more expansion slots should consider other form factors.

The specification that decides fit

The small-form-factor chassis limits internal expansion to low-profile cards and restricts power delivery to 65 W processors, so verify that your add-in cards and cooling requirements fit within these constraints.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the Intel Core i7-9700 is running at its 3.00 GHz base speed after setup?

Open Task Manager in Windows 11 Pro, select the Performance tab and watch the CPU clock settle at 3.00 GHz under light load.

What comes in the box and what must I provide myself?

The desktop and a power cord are included; you must supply a monitor, keyboard, mouse and Wi-Fi adapter because none are bundled.

Should I choose the 512 GB NVMe model or look for a larger capacity?

The 512 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 drive is the only storage fitted; if you need more space you will have to add a second drive yourself.
