Adds a single 10 Gbps SFP+ LC LRM port reaching 220 m over multimode fibre
The HP J9152A is a single-port 10G SFP+ transceiver designed for network switches that need a long-reach multimode connection. It targets administrators extending 10 Gigabit links over existing OM1 or OM2 fibre plants without recabling.
The LRM interface supports distances up to 220 metres on standard multimode fibre using LC duplex connectors. It operates at 10 Gbps but is not compatible with single-mode fibre or standard SR optics, so link planning must match the exact LRM specification on both ends.
This module upgrades 1 Gbps SFP uplinks to 10 Gbps while reusing installed multimode cabling, avoiding the cost of new fibre runs. The jump is worthwhile when aggregate traffic regularly saturates 1 Gbps links and the switch chassis accepts SFP+ LRM transceivers.

The J9152A is a single 10G SFP+ LRM transceiver rated for 220 m over multimode fibre, so select it when you need that exact reach and form factor.
It defines the maximum supported link length on standard multimode fibre at 10 Gbps, so plan patch cables and building runs to stay within that distance.
The LC duplex connector and SFP+ cage restrict you to 10 Gbps serial optical links; the port will not negotiate higher speeds or accept copper SFP+ modules.
