HP ProCurve MSM335 Multi Service Access Point

The HP ProCurve MSM335 is a wireless access point built for enterprise networks that require managed connectivity. It operates on IEEE 802.11a/b/g standards with a maximum wireless data rate of 54 Mbps. The unit is designed for central control via ProCurve Multi Service Mobility Controllers.

Controller-based deployment with PoE support

This access point integrates into an HP ProCurve Intelligent Mobility Solution and requires a Multi Service Mobility Controller for configuration and ongoing management. It draws power through a PoE-enabled RJ-45 port, eliminating the need for a local power outlet. A dedicated management port and a standard Gigabit Ethernet network port provide wired connectivity options.

Passive cooling for quiet operation

With no moving parts listed in the specifications, the device runs silently in normal use. Power is delivered entirely through the Ethernet cable via Power over Ethernet, simplifying installation and reducing cable clutter. The three internal antennas support the 54 Mbps transmission speed across supported frequency bands.

Questions about this item

What throughput limit appears first when the MSM335 runs at full load?

The 54 Mbps wireless data rate is the ceiling for 802.11a/b/g traffic.

How much heat or noise does the MSM335 produce during all-day operation?

The unit has no fan and draws power through its PoE port, so it runs silently with minimal heat.

Which controller must I already own to manage the MSM335 centrally?

It requires an HP ProCurve Multi Service Mobility Controller for central configuration and management.
