Wide-format printing up to 11x17

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9720 is a wide-format all-in-one inkjet printer built for offices that need prints up to 11 x 17 inches. It handles print, scan, copy and fax tasks with a 250-sheet paper capacity and a 2.7-inch colour touchscreen for direct control. The device suits teams producing brochures, spreadsheets or marketing materials in-house.

Replacing single-function or letter-size units

This printer replaces separate printers, scanners and fax machines that only support letter or A4 paper. The jump is worthwhile when workflows regularly require tabloid or ledger output, automatic two-sided printing, or legal-size flatbed scanning without outsourcing. Offices staying with standard letter formats will not use the extra width.

Straightforward network setup with app support

Wireless connectivity and the HP app let users print from phones or laptops without a wired network. The touchscreen guides the initial configuration step by step. Issues usually appear when the printer loses its Wi-Fi link or when the Instant Ink subscription lapses and cartridges stop shipping.

Questions about this item

What maximum paper size does the 9720 support for printing?

The printer prints up to 11 x 17 inches, covering wide-format jobs such as ledger and tabloid sheets.

How do you load the 250-sheet tray so the printer detects the size correctly?

Slide the width and length guides until they touch the paper edges without bending the stack, then confirm the size on the 2.7 inch touchscreen before printing.

When should the ink cartridges be replaced on this model?

Replace cartridges when the touchscreen shows a low-ink alert or when print quality fades; the 3-month Instant Ink trial ships replacements automatically during that period.
