16-inch 240 Hz gaming laptop

The HP OMEN 16 delivers high-refresh competitive play on a 16.0 inch WQXGA panel running at 2560 x 1600 with a 3 ms response time. An AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with 16 cores and 32 threads pairs with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU carrying 8 GB of dedicated memory. The system ships with 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD under Windows 11 Pro.

Sustained load behaviour

The 6-core 8940HX can boost up to 5.3 GHz while the RTX 5070 maintains graphics throughput during extended sessions. A 6-cell 83 Wh battery supplies power away from the wall, and the 100 percent sRGB 500 nit display keeps colour accuracy stable. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wireless traffic without added latency.

Thermals noise and power

The chassis measures 15.7 by 10.87 by 0.99 inches and weighs 7.05 lbs, providing internal volume for airflow under load. A full-size 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard includes a numeric keypad for desktop-style input. Ports include HDMI 2.1, USB Type-C with USB Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, plus RJ-45 for wired networking.
