HP OMEN 45L Gaming Desktop

The HP OMEN 45L GT22-3000i is a tower desktop built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor and 64 GB of memory. It ships with a 2 TB solid-state drive and Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. The system targets enthusiasts who want a high-performance platform for gaming and content creation without building their own rig. A glass side panel and dark chrome branding complete the black chassis.

Thermals and power at idle

The 45-litre chassis volume provides internal space for airflow around the Core Ultra 9 285K, which reaches up to 5.7 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost. At typical desktop loads the large enclosure allows the cooling solution to run quietly while maintaining stable temperatures. Power draw remains modest during light productivity tasks, reflecting the processor's efficiency cores handling background work.

Behaviour under sustained load

During extended gaming or rendering sessions the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K sustains high frequencies within the 45L thermal envelope. The spacious interior helps dissipate heat generated by prolonged all-core activity, preventing rapid throttle cycles. Fan speeds ramp gradually to match the workload, keeping acoustic output controlled even when the CPU and storage are fully utilised for long periods.

Questions about this item

How do I install the OMEN 45L GT22-3000i tower, and what step is often missed?

Place the tower on a stable surface, connect the power cable to the PSU, attach peripherals, then press the front power button; the step often missed is ensuring the voltage switch on the PSU matches your local mains supply before first power-on.

What maintenance or replacement will the 64 GB memory need later?

The 64 GB RAM is installed as standard; future maintenance may involve adding modules if free slots remain, or replacing a failed stick with matching specifications.

What limit appears first during sustained loads on the Core Ultra 9 285K running up to 5.7 GHz?

The CPU thermal limit typically appears first; the 45L chassis uses a liquid cooler, but prolonged turbo at 5.7 GHz can saturate the radiator, causing the processor to throttle clock speeds to stay within its thermal envelope.
