ProDesk 600 G5 Mini — business desktop

The HP ProDesk 600 G5 Mini is a compact business desktop powered by an Intel Core i7-9700T processor running at 2.00 GHz. It comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB M.2 solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed with a recovery image, and the system includes integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 plus wireless connectivity.

Suited for office workflows, not heavy graphics

This mini PC fits standard office tasks, video calls and multi-monitor productivity driven by the integrated graphics. It is not for buyers who need a discrete graphics card for 3D rendering, CAD or gaming workloads. The Fast Ethernet connection and lack of included peripherals also mean it does not suit setups that demand high-speed wired networking or a complete out-of-the-box kit.

512GB M.2 SSD determines storage capacity

The single 512GB M.2 drive sets the total high-speed storage available for the operating system, applications and active files.

Questions about this item

How do I install the M.2 SSD in the ProDesk 600 G5 Mini, and which step is often missed?

Open the chassis, insert the 512GB M.2 drive into the slot at a 30-degree angle, then secure it with the single retention screw; the step most people skip is fastening that screw, which leaves the drive unseated.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16GB DDR4 memory need later?

The 16GB DDR4 is soldered to the board, so it cannot be upgraded or replaced; if a fault develops the entire system board must be serviced.

What limit appears first when the i7-9700T runs sustained workloads?

The 2.00GHz base clock and the Mini chassis thermal envelope cause the processor to throttle before the Intel UHD Graphics 630 becomes the bottleneck.
