HP ProDesk 600 G4 Mini PC

This HP ProDesk 600 G4 Mini PC is a compact desktop computer built around an Intel Core i5-8500T processor. It ships with 16 GB of DDR3 memory and a 500 GB SATA SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and the unit includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a wired keyboard and a USB mouse.

Suited to office and home desk work

The system suits users who need a small, quiet PC for everyday productivity, web browsing and video calls. Buyers who want more storage or a dedicated graphics card for demanding creative or gaming workloads should look at a larger form factor.

DDR3 memory generation

This model uses DDR3 memory modules and supports a maximum of 32 GB across two slots. The installed stick is a single 16 GB DDR3 module, so any upgrade must match that generation to be compatible.

Questions about this item

What mounting options does the HP ProDesk 600G4 Mini PC have?

The Mini PC form factor is designed for VESA mounting behind a monitor or can sit on a desk; the chassis includes the standard mounting holes for a VESA bracket.

How do I add a second DDR3 memory module to the two slots, and what step is often missed?

Open the case, insert the DDR3 stick into the empty SO-DIMM slot at an angle then press down until the clips click; the step often missed is seating it fully so both retention clips engage.

Which storage drive will need replacement first in the HP ProDesk 600G4?

The 500GB SATA SSD handles the operating system and frequent writes, so it will reach its write endurance before the secondary 500GB SATA HDD used for bulk data.
