A 1U rack server with dual 12-core Xeon processors at 2.3GHz, 96GB DDR4, H240ar RAID controller and four 3.5-inch drive bays
Installed Memory Size 96GB
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for dense compute workloads. It ships with two twelve-core Xeon E5-2670 v3 processors running at 2.3GHz, providing 24 physical cores and 48 threads. The system includes 96GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed across 24 DIMM slots. It targets organisations that need high core counts in a single rack unit.
The Smart HBA H240ar adds hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across twelve-gigabit SAS and six-gigabit SATA links. Four large-form-factor drive trays with screws are supplied, but no drives are installed. The controller offloads parity calculations from the CPUs, leaving more cycles for applications. An optional universal media bay can add an optical drive if required.
The installed 96GB matches the maximum memory speed supported by the E5-2670 v3 at 2400MT/s. All 24 DIMM slots are populated, so further expansion requires replacing modules with higher-capacity DDR4 ECC registered sticks up to 64GB each. The Matrox G200 graphics with 16MB video memory provides basic console output only. Buyers needing GPU acceleration or more than 96GB of memory without a DIMM swap should consider other platforms.

Other versions of this model
All 24 slots are filled with the installed 96GB configuration, so no slots are free for additional DDR4 modules.
The 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA links on the Smart HBA H240ar define the maximum sustained data rate.
The dual 500W redundant power supplies and 1U chassis fans scale speed to keep the CPUs and memory within thermal limits under full load.
