1U rack server with dual 12-core Xeon E5-2670 v3 CPUs, 16 GB DDR4, H240ar RAID controller and four 3.5-inch drive bays
Installed Memory Size 16GB
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for compute-dense workloads. It ships with two twelve-core Xeon E5-2670 v3 processors running at 2.3 GHz, delivering 24 physical cores and 48 threads. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across 24 DIMM slots. The Smart HBA H240ar controller provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA connectivity with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 support. Dual 500 W redundant hot-swap power supplies are included.
This configuration fits organisations running virtualised infrastructure, database clusters or high-thread-count applications that benefit from the dual-socket design and large memory expansion headroom. The four LFF drive bays accept 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives for local storage arrays. Buyers who require discrete GPU acceleration, more than four internal drive bays or an operating system pre-installed should evaluate alternative platforms.
The chassis provides four large form factor drive bays populated with trays and screws, but no drives are included. The onboard Smart HBA H240ar handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across SAS and SATA media. Embedded networking uses a four-port 1 Gb 331i adapter. Video output is provided by a Matrox G200 chip with 16 MB memory. No optical drive or operating system is supplied.

Other versions of this model
The server accepts 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB or 64GB DDR4 ECC registered modules up to 2400MT/s; actual speed depends on the installed Xeon E5-2670 v3 processors.
Yes, the H240ar supports 6Gb SATA and 12Gb SAS, so 3.5" SATA drives can be used in the four LFF bays with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60.
Check the system BIOS or iLO interface; it should show two processors, each with 12 cores at 2.3GHz, giving 24 physical cores and 48 logical threads with hyper-threading enabled.
