A 1U rack server with dual Xeon E5-2640v3 processors, 96GB DDR4 memory, H240ar RAID controller and four 3.5-inch drive bays
Installed Memory Size 96GB
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2640v3 processors, each offering eight cores at 2.6GHz. The system ships with 96GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed across 24 DIMM slots. It targets organisations that need dense compute for virtualisation, databases or general-purpose workloads in a single rack unit.
Dual 500W redundant power supplies feed both CPUs and the memory subsystem, allowing the server to maintain its 2.6GHz base frequency under continuous multi-threaded demand. The Intel C610 chipset and 24 DIMM slots support up to 96GB total capacity at speeds up to 2400MT/s, so memory bandwidth scales with core count during prolonged jobs. Four 3.5-inch drive bays connect to the Smart HBA H240ar controller, which provides 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA paths with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for consistent storage throughput.
The 1U chassis includes hot-swap power modules and four large-form-factor drive trays with screws supplied, simplifying drive replacement without downtime. An embedded four-port 1Gb Ethernet 331i adapter handles network traffic, while the Matrox G200 graphics core with 16MB video memory provides basic console output. No operating system is included, so the installer chooses the hypervisor or OS that matches the workload.

Other versions of this model
The server uses two Xeon E5-2640v3 CPUs and redundant 500W hot-swap supplies; sustained load will draw significant power and require proper rack airflow to manage thermal output.
The chassis includes four LFF drive trays with screws but no drives; you must provide 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives compatible with the H240ar controller.
Yes, the integrated 331i adapter provides four 1Gb Ethernet ports compatible with standard 1Gb switches and cabling.
