1U rack server with single Xeon E5-2643 v3 3.4GHz six-core CPU, 16GB DDR4, dual 1TB SAS drives and redundant 500W power supplies
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rackmount server system built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 six-core processor running at 3.4GHz. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and two 1TB 7.2K SAS drives managed by a Smart HBA H240ar controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 500W redundant hot-swap power supplies are included.
This configuration suits buyers who need a compact single-socket server with hardware RAID and redundant power for virtualization, database or file workloads. It is not suited for deployments that require a second processor installed, add-in GPU acceleration, or more than 16GB of memory without purchasing additional DIMMs. The four LFF drive bays limit internal storage expansion to 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives.
The installed memory is 16GB DDR4 across 24 DIMM slots, with the specification listing 16GB as the maximum capacity for this specific unit. Any workload needing more memory will require the buyer to source and install additional DDR4 ECC registered modules up to the platform limits.

Other versions of this model
The board supports two Xeon processors and 24 DIMM slots, 12 per CPU. With one E5-2643 v3 installed you can use the 12 slots wired to that socket; the second socket and its 12 slots remain available for a future processor upgrade.
Yes. The H240ar handles both 12 Gbps SAS and 6 Gbps SATA, so older SATA drives can be installed in the 3.5-inch bays and used in any supported RAID level.
During POST press the key shown for the H240ar configuration utility, or open the iLO interface; both will list the two 1 TB SAS drives and the RAID volume state.
