1U rack server with a 12-core Xeon at 2.3 GHz, 192 GB DDR4, B140i SATA RAID and dual 500 W power supplies
Installed Memory Size 192GB
HDD None
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 packs a twelve-core Xeon E5-2670 v3 at 2.3 GHz and 192 GB of DDR4 ECC memory into a single rack unit. Dual redundant 500 W supplies keep the platform running if one unit fails. It targets virtualisation hosts, database nodes and high-density web tiers that need maximum threads per rack slot.
All twelve cores maintain 2.3 GHz under continuous load because the 1U chassis directs front-to-rear airflow across both CPU and memory zones. Hyper-threading presents 24 logical threads to the scheduler, letting container clusters or Java application servers saturate pipelines without frequency drops. The C610 chipset links memory at up to 2400 MT/s per DIMM, so bandwidth scales with the 24 populated slots.
Redundant hot-swap supplies share the load evenly, drawing only what the single processor and 192 GB require at idle or peak. Fan speed ramps gradually in response to inlet temperature, keeping acoustic output low in typical data-centre aisles. The B140i controller manages SATA RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10 without a dedicated battery-backed cache, reducing overall system power versus hardware RAID alternatives.

Other versions of this model
The 1U rack server uses redundant 500W hot-swap power supplies; fan speed ramps with CPU load, so sustained 2.3GHz twelve-core operation will increase airflow and heat output.
The eight SFF bays accept 2.5-inch SATA SSDs or HDDs plus the matching drive trays; the B140i controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 on SATA only.
The integrated Matrox G200 provides 16MB video memory and standard VGA output, compatible with most legacy KVM switches and monitors.
