Everyday glossy photo paper

HP Everyday Photo Paper Q8723A is a glossy white paper sized at 8.5 x 11 in and supplied in a pack of 50 sheets. It is designed for inkjet printers and has a brightness rating of 90 with a paper weight of 48 lbs. The finish produces quick-dry prints that can be handled immediately after printing.

Who this suits and who it does not

This paper suits home users and small offices that want affordable, fade-resistant photo prints for albums, cards or casual framing. It is not for buyers who need a heavier premium stock, a matte or satin surface, or larger format sheets for professional gallery output.

Deciding specification

The critical specification is the glossy finish combined with 48 lb weight on standard letter-size sheets, which determines whether the paper works for your everyday inkjet photo projects.

Questions about this item

What does the 90 brightness rating mean for photos printed on this paper?

A 90 brightness rating gives prints a bright white base that makes colours look vivid and contrast strong on the glossy surface.

Is the glossy finish limited to inkjet printers or does it work with laser devices?

The paper is specified for inkjet printers only; using it in a laser printer can damage the fuser and void the printer warranty.

Will the 48 lb weight feed reliably through a standard home office inkjet tray?

At 48 lb the sheets are similar to heavy photo paper; most modern inkjets handle this weight, but check your printer's maximum media weight rating.
