Outdoor Wi-Fi 6E for enterprise and industrial IoT

The HP S0P60A Aruba AP-679 is a tri-band outdoor access point built for harsh environments. It operates on 2.40 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands to serve high-density enterprise and industrial IoT deployments. The unit delivers up to 3.9 Gbit/s aggregate data rate using 2x2 MIMO technology.

Pole or wall mounting with dual 2.5 GbE uplinks

Installation uses standard outdoor mounting hardware for pole or wall placement. Two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports provide wired backhaul and Power over Ethernet input. Ensure the cabling and PoE source support the 27.50 W power draw and that the mounting location meets the required clearance for antenna patterns.

Sustained throughput in extreme temperatures

The weatherproof, temperature-hardened chassis maintains performance under continuous load across a wide operating range. Tri-radio operation distributes client traffic across all three bands to reduce congestion during peak usage. Integrated Bluetooth 5 and Zigbee radios handle IoT traffic without impacting Wi-Fi capacity.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the AP-679 is delivering its 3.9 Gbps aggregate throughput after installation?

Check the management dashboard for tri‑radio 2x2:2 MIMO link rates across the 2.40 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands and verify both 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports show active 2.5 Gbps connections.

What ships with the S0P60A and what must be sourced separately?

The access point includes integrated Bluetooth 5 and Zigbee radios, internal antennas and two RJ‑45 ports; PoE injectors, mounting brackets and any outdoor‑rated cabling are not included.

Which 670 Series variant should I choose for a standard outdoor deployment versus a hazardous‑location site?

Select the AP‑679 for general rugged outdoor use; choose a 670EX model only when HazLoc compliance is required for oil‑rig, heavy‑industry or transport environments.
