Sheet-fed scanner captures 40 ppm with 50-sheet ADF and 600 dpi resolution
The HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s4 is a sheet-fed document scanner built for offices that need fast two-sided capture. It scans up to 40 ppm and 80 ipm using a CMOS CIS sensor with LED illumination at 600 dpi optical resolution. The automatic document feeder holds 50 sheets and accepts paper up to 8.5 x 122 inches.
Measuring 11.8 x 6.8 x 6.1 inches, the unit fits on a crowded desk and connects through USB. It draws 24 W while scanning, 4.4 W in ready mode and 1.1 W in sleep, operating from 90 to 264 VAC. Noise stays around 59 dB. Supported output formats include PDF, PDF/A, encrypted PDF, JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text, RTF and searchable PDF across Windows, macOS and Linux.
The jump is worth it when you need duplex speed without a large flatbed footprint. It handles cut-sheet, pre-punched, carbonless forms, business cards, plastic cards up to 1.24 mm and carrier-protected fragile originals. Buyers who need higher daily volumes, network scanning or an integrated flatbed for bound books should look elsewhere.
