HP Stream 14 laptop for everyday tasks

The HP Stream 14 is a thin and light laptop designed for basic home and personal use. It runs Windows 11 in S mode on an Intel Celeron N4120 processor with 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of SSD storage. A 32 GB USB card is included in the box for extra file space.

Suits students and light web users.

This device suits students or anyone needing a portable machine for web browsing, email and document editing with the included 1-year Microsoft 365 Personal subscription. Buyers who want more storage or the ability to install apps from outside the Microsoft Store should look at other options.

Ready to use out of the box with few setup issues

The laptop arrives fully assembled with the operating system pre-installed, so setup only requires the standard Windows first-run steps. The main limitation is the locked-down S mode, which prevents installation of traditional desktop applications unless the user switches out of it.

Questions about this item

Does this laptop need any extra peripherals to start using Windows 11 S right away?

No, the 14.0 inch HD display, keyboard, trackpad and 64 GB SSD are built in, so Windows 11 S runs without adding anything else.

Will my older USB 2.0 flash drives and mice work with the two USB 3.0 Type-A ports on this Stream model?

Yes, the two USB 3.0 Type-A ports are backward compatible, so USB 2.0 devices will connect and function normally.

How can I confirm the Intel Celeron N4120 is hitting its 2.6 GHz burst frequency after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, choose CPU and watch the speed reading climb toward 2.6 GHz during a heavy load.
