Compact AI Workstation

The HP Z2 G1i Mini PC fits on a desk or behind a monitor while targeting 3D design, real-time rendering and basic model development. It ships with Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core Ultra 5 245K processor and 32 GB of memory. A 1 TB SSD provides the primary storage.

Thermals and Power

The mini chassis uses an Intel W880 chipset to manage thermals and power draw for the Core Ultra 5 245K CPU and the NVIDIA RTX A400 4 GB graphics card. Ports remain conveniently accessible on the small footprint during sustained workloads. Expandability is retained for future demand changes.

Upgrade Context

This system replaces a larger tower when desk space is the limiting factor and the workload stays within entry professional graphics. Buyers who need more video memory or higher GPU compute should look elsewhere. The jump is worth it when physical size and quiet operation outweigh raw accelerator performance.

The RTX A400 4 GB is factory-installed in the Mini PC chassis. No user installation is required.

The 1 TB SSD has no scheduled maintenance. Replace it only if capacity is exceeded or a drive health tool reports a failure.

What limit appears first on the Core Ultra 5 245K during sustained heavy workloads?

The Intel W880 chipset and compact Mini PC thermal design will throttle the Core Ultra 5 245K before the 32 GB memory or RTX A400 4 GB reach their limits.
