Mid-Tower Workstation for Professional Workloads

This HP Z2 G4 mid-tower workstation is built for professionals who need certified stability in CAD, 3D modelling and video editing. It ships new with an Intel Core i5-9500 6-core processor, 16GB DDR4 2666 memory and a 500GB NVMe SSD. The NVIDIA Quadro P2000 5GB GDDR5 graphics card provides four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs for multi-monitor setups. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and digitally activated.

500W 90% Efficient Power Supply and Thermal Design

The integrated 500W power supply operates at 90% efficiency, helping to reduce heat output and running costs during normal workloads. The mid-tower chassis is engineered for professional thermal management, keeping the i5-9500 and Quadro P2000 within spec without excessive fan noise. Integrated Intel I219-LM Gigabit Ethernet and Conexant CX20632 5.1 high-definition audio are handled on the motherboard, minimising additional power draw.

Quadro P2000 5GB GDDR5

The bundled NVIDIA Quadro P2000 5GB GDDR5 160-bit graphics adapter drives up to four displays via DisplayPort 1.4, enabling expansive visual workspaces without extra hardware. Windows 11 Pro delivers enterprise-grade security and management features ready for domain joining. The system supports up to 128GB DDR4 memory for future expansion. Buyers who need more storage or a second graphics card should verify chassis and power-supply headroom before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install the DDR4 2666 memory modules and which step is often missed?

Insert the 2x 8GB unbuffered DDR4 sticks into the motherboard slots until they click; the step often missed is seating both modules fully so the system recognises the full 16GB capacity.

What maintenance or replacement will the 500W 90% efficient power supply need later?

The 500W unit has no user-serviceable parts; plan to replace the entire supply if fan noise increases or voltages drift after several years of continuous operation.

What thermal limit appears first on the Quadro P2000 5GB GDDR5 during sustained loads?

The 160-bit GDDR5 memory hits its temperature ceiling before the GPU core, causing the card to throttle clocks to protect the 5GB frame buffer.
