HP Z2 G4 Workstation i7-9700 32GB DDR4

The HP Z2 G4 Mid-Tower Workstation delivers professional-grade performance with an Intel Core i7-9700 8-core processor, 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz memory, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. It includes an NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 8GB graphics card and ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. This configuration targets engineers, designers, and analysts who need certified application stability.

Suited for certified professional apps.

The workstation suits users running ISV-certified CAD, rendering, or simulation workloads that benefit from Quadro drivers and ECC-free DDR4 memory. Buyers needing multi-socket CPU scalability, registered ECC memory support, or higher GPU memory capacity for large datasets should evaluate alternative platform classes. The single-socket LGA 1151 design limits processor upgrade paths to 9th Generation Core i7 or i9 options.

Quadro RTX 4000 8GB GDDR6 decides fit

The NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM and 256-bit memory interface is the specification that determines suitability. It provides three DisplayPort 1.4 outputs and one USB-C connector for multi-display workflows. If your professional software requires more than 8GB of video memory or specific compute features absent from this GPU, this system will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

Can the 32GB DDR4 2666 memory be expanded later, and what is the maximum supported?

The motherboard supports up to 128 GB of DDR4 2666, so the current 32 GB can be increased by adding or replacing modules.

What thermal limit appears first when the i7-9700 runs at 4.7 GHz Turbo for long periods?

The 500 W 90 % efficient power supply and mid-tower airflow set the practical ceiling; sustained turbo clocks will be limited by the CPU cooler and case cooling capacity.

How loud and hot does the RTX 4000 8GB get under all-day load?

The Quadro RTX 4000 uses a blower-style cooler that exhausts heat out the rear; fan noise rises with GPU load but stays within workstation-class acoustic targets.
