A dual-port 4 Gbit/s Fibre Channel host bus adapter that plugs into a PCI Express slot
The HPE AP768A is a 4 Gbit/s Fibre Channel host bus adapter with two ports on a plug-in card. It connects HP ProLiant servers to HP StorageWorks arrays over the PCI Express bus. This module suits administrators expanding SAN connectivity in existing 4 Gb infrastructure.
The card installs into an available PCI Express slot and requires driver support from the host operating system. Common issues include mismatched firmware between the adapter and the storage array, or incorrect zoning configuration on the switch fabric.
At 4 Gbit/s per port the adapter delivers consistent throughput for block storage traffic. The dual-port design provides path redundancy so workloads continue if one link or switch fails. Thermal output is typical for a low-profile plug-in card under continuous load.

Check the adapter status in the server BIOS or HPE management software; both ports should report a negotiated link speed of 4 Gbit/s with no errors.
The plug-in card itself is included; compatible SFP transceivers and fibre patch cables for each port are not supplied and must be purchased separately.
The AP768A is the 42B 4Gb dual-port model designed for PCI Express slots in HPE ProLiant servers connecting to HPE StorageWorks arrays.
