Campus Wi-Fi 7 tri-radio access point

The HPE Aruba Networking AP-735 S1G43A is an indoor tri-radio wireless access point built for enterprise campuses, healthcare facilities, education sites, retail spaces and industrial IoT deployments. It delivers Wi-Fi 7 connectivity across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands using integrated down-tilt omnidirectional antennas. Two 5 GbE wired ports provide redundant Ethernet and power connections. Management options include on-premises, public cloud, virtual private cloud and as-a-service models.

Suits high-density IoT

Organisations that need simultaneous 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz coverage with integrated Bluetooth 5.4 and 802.15.4 radios for Zigbee will benefit from the Ultra Tri-Band filtering and dual USB 2.0 host interfaces. Sites limited to legacy Wi-Fi generations or without multi-gigabit switching infrastructure will not utilise the 14.4 Gbps peak data rate or 320 MHz channel width on 6 GHz. The proprietary serial console connector also requires a specific cable not used by standard RJ45 consoles.

Dual 5 GbE ports with PoE-powered redundancy

The two 5 GbE RJ45 ports supply both data and power, enabling link redundancy and eliminating the need for a separate power supply. Verify that the upstream switch or injector can deliver sufficient PoE power for the access point.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the S1G43A and what must I purchase separately?

The AP-735 ships with the access point and integrated antennas; mounting brackets, PoE injector or 5GbE switch, and any required licences are sold separately.

Which radio band combination should I select for the 735 — 2.4/5/6 GHz, dual-5/6 GHz or 5/dual-6 GHz?

Choose 2.4/5/6 GHz for legacy client support, dual-5/6 GHz when 5 GHz density is highest, or 5/dual-6 GHz to maximise 6 GHz capacity.

What does the 9.3 Gbps aggregate figure mean once the AP-735 is mounted and serving clients?

It represents the combined peak PHY rate across all three 2x2 radios under ideal conditions; real-world throughput will be lower due to overhead, client mix and channel width.
