A 5-metre direct-attach copper cable splitting one QSFP28 port into four SFP28 links
This is a 5 m direct attach copper cable that breaks one QSFP28 male connector into four SFP28 male connectors. It is built for HPE networking gear and carries the JL284A part number.
It suits administrators who need to split a single QSFP28 uplink port into four SFP28 connections on compatible HPE equipment. It does not suit links longer than the supplied cable length, environments that require optical transceivers, or builds using non-HPE hardware without verified interoperability.
The single specification that decides fit is the breakout wiring: one QSFP28 male connector on side A and four SFP28 male connectors on side B. Only devices that accept this exact pin-out and cable length will work.
Measured against everything we stock in Ethernet & LAN Cables, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Insert the QSFP28 plug straight until the latch clicks, then push each SFP28 module in the same way; never force the cable sideways or the latch can snap.
Inspect the connectors for dust or bent pins every few months and reseat them if link errors appear; the copper twinax itself has no moving parts to service.
The 5 m length is the practical limit for passive copper at this speed; beyond it you would need active optical cables to maintain the link.
